Looking forward to my senior year: I am looking forward to being one of the leaders of my school and swim team. Also senior parking is going to be pretty nice!

My favorite thing to do in Colorado: is ski. Pretty much anything in the mountains actually. I love finding new adventure spots with all of my friends.

My dream vacation: would be a trip to Tokyo. I would eat at the best sushi restaurants, enjoy the city at night, and stay at the Palace Hotel Tokyo. I love big cities and have always had an interest in Japanese culture.
When I grow up: I want to be a pediatric surgeon. I enjoy working with/around kids and I am totally up for the challenge of medical school and the pressure of being a skilled surgeon.

My favorite musical artist: is Justin Bieber. He is so naturally talented and very cute of course. A dream of mine is definitely to go and see him in concert.
My favorite places to shop are: Free People, Urban Outfitters, and Target. I am always all for an adventure to Target with my friends.

My jam song is: “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” by Soulja Boy.  It is a classic that brings back so many good memories. Also, it has such a great beat and lyrics to dance to. I definitely always play this song at parties and in the car with friends.

My all time favorite movies are: Monsters Inc. and Monters University. They are both so creative, fun, and cute. Monsters University is the sequel to Monsters Inc. and it just one of the rare times when the sequel actually lives up to the hype it got and was as good as the first. My favorite character in these movies is Mike Wazowsky cause he is very silly.
Some possible colleges for me are: University of San Diego, CU Boulder, and NYU. I will major in premed and I also plan on swimming for a college team.

I could not live without: my best friend, my phone, and my swimming.
One of my favorite traditions is: the state team dinner we have for my high school swim team. Typically only 15 girls will make the state team, so we all get together the night before and have a dinner at someone’s house. The house is always decorated with banners and good luck posters. We get our state jackets and pass out state gifts which are little things we bring for everyone on the team for good luck. Then at the end of the night we make state wishes; we write our goals on Chinese lanterns and then release them into the sky.
My favorite memory is: learning how to surf. I learned in Oregon when I was 13 years old. I remember getting a two hour lesson then spending another 6 hours after that on my own out in the waves.
In 10 years I envision: I will have finished medical school and will be applying for a residency program hopefully in a big city.

Loveland Senior Pictures | Sophia

Meet another one of our fabulous senior model reps Sophia! So excited to have her as a senior model rep for Roka Studios. I have known their family for years, and was thrilled when she filled out our application. Sophia attends Loveland High School and has big ambitious plans for her life after high school. Take a look at her interview below to learn a little more about her and check out her photos we did near our studio in the Rino Arts District.

Summer Plans:
This summer I am spending most of my time with my family, Doberman puppy, and close friends. I work almost every at Dairy Delight, a cute, little diner on the way up the canyon. I especially want to take a mental break from school and get a tan.

Favorite Things To Do In Colorado:
I have lived in Colorado my entire life and my favorite things to do are rock climbing, riding horses, and skiing. I love getting dirty. I am learning to climb more difficult rocks. I love the sweeping landscape views from the back of a horse. And I absolutely love skiing on gloomy, snowy days.

Three Things I Could Not Live Without:
I would not be who I am today without my family. I have a mentor in my father, a best friend in my mom, and shadows in my two little sisters. I couldn’t imagine life without them.
Music is a big part of me. I couldn’t live without being able to make music. I love listening to music, yet being able to play the piano and violin give me so much more satisfaction. I have been classically trained on the piano since I was four and have been playing the violin in the advanced orchestra at Loveland High.
I cannot imagine leaving the house without lotion, so continuing life without it would be miserable! I desperately need it after touching water and then apply a few times a day in addition to that.

Colleges and Majors:
I am interested in traveling past Colorado’s borders for the next years of my life. I am hoping to attend a university and continue on to medical school. My dream colleges include University of Northwestern, University of Washington, Duke University, and North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

When I grow up I want to be a neurosurgeon. I am extremely interested in mental illnesses and the capabilities of the human brain. I want to further research on the brain and discover new things to help the world.

When I grow up I wanna be: When I grow up I want to be a counseling psychologist for either substance abuse or family counseling.

If I won the lottery I would: I would help my family pay off their bills, donate to a charity, and with the remaining money I would put it in my college savings account.

Your proudest moment: My proudest moment was when my dance team won fourth place in state. We were the smallest team there and we worked extremely hard to make it that far.

Favorite places to shop: I love to go shopping some of my favorite places are American Eagle, PacSun, Tilly’s, and Sephora.

Three things that you could not live without: My family, dance, and my pets.

Your list of possible colleges and major: I really would like to go to Colorado University, University of Northern Colorado, or Colorado Mesa University. I would like to major in counseling psychology.

Your favorite family tradition with family or friends: My favorite family tradition is baking cookies before Christmas. My family has done this tradition since I was three. My cousins, grandma, parents, and siblings all go to my grandma’s house and we make sugar cookies from scratch. I love this tradition because Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and it’s a great way to spend time with family.

Senior Pictures | Denver | Emma

Meet Emma one of of Class of 2018 Senior Model Reps. Emma attends Legacy High School. I absolutely LOVE the senior pictures we captured of her from her first session in Denver. She brought stylish clothes, accessories, and her prom dress which I LOVE! So looking forward to capturing more portraits of Emma when she does one of our Destination Sessions this summer in Telluride.

Take a look at her senior pictures below and get to know her from her interview.

Looking forward to the most your senior year? I am excited about the freedom that comes during my senior year.  I’m also excited to find out where I will be going to college, but not so much to do the actual applying.

Favorite thing to do in Colorado: A few friends and I have more recently discovered that we love hiking!  I’ve loved exploring Boulder’s Flatirons and Golden’s peaks more recently.

When I grow up I wanna be: In the field of biological research, at least at the moment.  I still have so many unexplored interests so who knows what path I will end up taking?

If I won the lottery I would: Donate a lot of the winnings.  No one really needs that much money.

Your favorite musical artist: This one is a difficult one for me; my music taste ranges from modern rock, pop country, electronic, and everywhere inbetween.  I would say though that one of the first bands I loved and still love is Cage the Elephant, especially their newest album.

Favorite places to shop: Nordstroms and Abercrombie and Fitch are pretty much where I buy the majority of my clothing.  Oh, and I also steal from my little sister’s closet all the time.

Your proudest moment:My proudest moment was probably when I got my testing scores back.  I didn’t think I would do as well as I did, and I was proud of myself for surprising myself.

Your favorite memory growing up: Back when I lived in Kansas, we used to have a pear tree that would bloom every spring.  I loved climbing in the tree and reading when all of the white blooms were out.  As cheesy as it sounds, it felt magical.

What you want to change about this world: Overall, I’d want people to be more giving and people to volunteer more.  Volunteering has been one of the many things I have enjoyed recently, and I feel like it has made me a better person.

Summer plans: My summer this year isn’t quite that exciting.  It’s going to be a lot of essay writing for colleges and different scholarships since I will be way too busy during the fall to worry about a lot of it.  I also will be doing an internship for an academic STEM program I am in, probably in the field of biological research.

Where do you envision yourself being in 10 years: I hope to be done with school forever by then and well into my career.

First concert: My mom and her friend Kathy, ever the Gwen Stefani lovers, took me and a friend Lilly to a No Doubt concert for my first concert.  It was mediocre since I didn’t really know any of the songs.  I liked my next concert, a Miley Cyrus one, much better.

Your jam song and why? My jam song changes based on the day of the week, but here’s just a few: Woman by Harry Styles, Back Stabbin’ Betty by Cage the Elephant, How Big How Blue How Beautiful by Florence and the Machine, New Song by Warpaint, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

Favorite movies: I’m notorious for not having seen many movies at all.  Love Actually is my favorite that I have seen though.

Your list of possible colleges and major:The state schools that I am mainly interested in are The University of Kansas and The University of Colorado at Boulder.  Beyond that, I am still exploring other schools like Northwestern, Duke, Cornell, and many others.  If I had to pick a major right now, it would probably be biology.

Three things you could not live without:

  1. My Family, they’re my support system and the reason why I am who I am today

  2. My Hydroflask, it’s the best waterbottle I’ve owned in the history of ever and probably one of the best things I’ve bought

  3. The Internet, I don’t know how people did things before the internet was around.  Almost everything I do involves it now

Something friends/people might not know about you: One thing my friends and family may not know about me is that I’m in love with 50’s and 60’s music. My favorite artists to listen to are people like Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and so many others. I know a few of my friends look at me strangely when songs like that come up on my playlist but I would never skip those songs!

Your favorite musical artist: My favorite musical artist is Tori Kelly. I love her voice and admire her as a person. She’s incredibly talented and beautiful and it’s great to see kind artist like her in this world.

Three things you could not live without: three things I could never live without is my phone (no surprise to anyone), my speaker that I use almost everywhere I go, and even though this one isn’t an object, I couldn’t live without my mom. She’s truly my best friend and I don’t know what I would do without her.

Summer plans: For summer, I plan on working at a local water park that I’ve be going to since I was a little kid. I’m really excited because I know I’ll have fun! Then in the middle of June I get to go back to Disney world in Florida; my true happy place!

Favorite thing to do in Colorado: One of my favorite things to do in Colorado is to drive up into the mountains and go on hikes with my friends and family. I love looking at the beautiful view and feeling so at home!

Your proudest moment: My proudest moment would have to be when I placed Top ten for a competition at my HOSA state conference. It felt amazing and it made me feel like I was taking the right steps into my future in health care.

When I grow up I wanna be: When I grow up, I hope to be working in any part of the medical field. By next June, I will be getting certified as an EMT, but I hope in my future I will be able to because a pediatric nurse.

Your favorite memory growing up: My favorite memory growing up was filming a bunch of random videos with my sister, Aubree, on our camera. To this day we still go back and watch those videos with our family and it doesn’t fail to make any of us smile.

What you want to change about this world: One thing I would change about this world is that everyone would stop worrying about what others think or what media has to say about a certain trend; be confident and comfortable with who you are and the things you like!

Valor High School Senior Pictures – Alex

One of my favorite sessions last year was of the beautiful Alex. We did her Valor High School senior pictures in early October. The Colorado fall colors were just beginning to turn leaving us with a background of a nice yellow and orange for her outdoor senior pictures. Alex choose our Luxe session which included professional hair and makeup, a four hour session, unlimited outfits and multiple locations. She brought many different outfits, accessories, jackets, hat, and her guitar which is one of her passions in life. We photographed her session around our studio in the neighborhood of the Rino Arts District. We have so many bold colorful walls, alleys and places to photograph so close to our studio. We also drove to an open space park not to far from the studio to capture more of an outdoor look. Her parents were over the moon with her senior portraits and they are some of my favorites.

Roka Studios would love to photograph your Denver senior portraits this year! We four different types of sessions for you to choose from. The Luxe session is the only session that includes professional makeup and hair. You can add makeup to any session for $75. Tiffany from Blushed Artistry is our exclusive makeup artist for our studio. We will be offering 1/2 off any of our sessions for the month of June. Contact us today to reserve your spot.

Cherry Creek High School Senior Graduation-Gabby

Gabby’s Cherry Creek High School Senior Graduation party will go down in history! Gabby has set the bar high on how to throw a graduation party. IT WAS EPIC!

We were lucky enough to photograph Gabby’s senior portraits this past fall, as you can see from below she is absolutely stunning! In the winter we  photographed her and her siblings for the Christmas Cards. When her mom asked us to photograph her two day graduation party, we were thrilled that we were available and not photographing weddings. Such an incredible family to be around. These past two days were awesome!

Gabby’s Friday night party was held at Cluster Studios in Denver. They thought of everything to make the party a success. They had candy, sweets, everywhere, Lookout Photo Booth, DJ, Qdoba, makeup jewel station, glow sticks, and more. Below are just some of the shots from the party. There are way too many to post here!

If you were at the party and want to see more party photos or to download any of the photos go here: Gabby’s Graduation Party.

Congratulations Gabby! Cherry Creek High School Class of 2017 Graduate! Best of luck in San Diego!
