Denver Senior Pictures | CeCe | Arapahoe High School
Meet CeCe from Arapahoe High School who came to us for her Denver senior pictures. CeCe is nothing but smiles and giggles and I had a great time photographing her senior portraits. We actually had to do her session twice. As you can see from the dark clouds and the first two photos, the skies in Denver were dark and a storm quickly moved in. We had to call the session due to the weather and reschedule it for another day. We were able to capture a couple of portraits in her Cheer uniform before the storm came rolling in. Since we determined that we captured what we wanted in front of the Denver skyline. We decide to use the bold graffiti in the Rino Arts District for part of her session and then went to a park for an outdoor look. That’s one thing I love about the open spaces in Denver. You can drive 10 minutes outside of Denver and find a great open space park. The metro area of Denver is lined up with parks all over the front range that make great backdrops for Denver senior pictures.
Class of 2018 time to start thinking about what kind of look you want for your Denver senior pictures. Do you want a rustic look? A mountain background? A city or urban look somewhere throughout Denver. The Denver metro area has some many possibilities for your senior portrait. Roka Studios can’t wait to create something epic for you. Give us a call at 303-702-1515 to schedule your senior pictures.
Fort Collins Senior Photos | Maddy | Rocky Mountain High School
Check out Maddy’s Fort Collins senior photos with her horse! I LOVE to incorporate what seniors are into for their portraits. Maddy attends Rocky Mountain High school and absolutely loves horses. She has two horses that are her life. She spends so many hours training them, and also competes with them all over Colorado. The first image is one of my favorites. Maddy posted this photo on Instagram and summed in up perfectly. She said “Years of work and training captured in a single moment forever”. This photo and the one below is was selected and recognized nationally by Seniors Inspire. The first photo is in their Top 100 Hall of fame. The second photo was a feature photo which Roka Studios was named one of the 30 Senior Photographers to watch in 2017. I feel so honored to be recognized for our Denver senior photography. This wouldn’t be possible without the seniors who demand something different and want to have their senior portraits with what they love to do.
Class of 2018 start thinking about what you want your senior photos to look like. We can’t wait to create with you.

Denver Senior Portraits-Nate
I love incorporating a senior’s passion or hobby into their Denver Senior Portraits. Nate from Mountain Vista High School is all about baseball. When talking to his mom to book Nate’s session, we talked about what he loves and that love is baseball. Not only does he play baseball for high school, he also plays on the travel team. Nate eats, breathes, and lives for baseball. Most senior boys aren’t into spending a lot of time taking senior portraits. I came up with the idea of getting dressed up, adding a couple of props for baseball and photograph him in front of Coors Field. I envisioned a some sort of suit, with black eye stickers and a bat. Nate came prepared and we created on of my favorite sports photos. Nate’s mom and dad were thrilled with the first photo in the post. They printed a large print for their home.
We love incorporating sports, hobbies, and passions into our Denver senior portraits. Class of 2018 start thinking about what you want to include in your senior photos. Are you a drummer who wants to bring their drum set on a dirt road? Do you love motor cross and want to include some epic jumping shots for your senior portraits? Are you into theater or singing and want to have your senior portraits done on a massive Denver stage? Do you love football and want to take your senior photos at Sports Authority Field? Are you a dancer and want to create something epic? Denver senior portraits don’t have to be boring, think outside the box when it comes time for your senior portraits. Let’s create something epic.

Denver Senior Photos | Carley | Mountain Vista High School
Carley came to Roka Studios to have her Denver senior photos taken this past fall. She had recently moved to Colorado from Arizona. She will be attending Mountain Vista High School. Carley came with several stylish outfits and even brought her prom dress for the session. At the end of the session she even dipped into the lake for a couple of outstanding portraits. Along with her outfits, Carley brought the perfect accessories to compliment and complete her outfits. She brought plenty of necklaces, bracelets, and a hat to give her look the finishing touch for her senior portraits. We highly recommend brings multiple accessories to change the look of your outfit without having to change your outfit. Just a simple jacket, cardigan, scarf, hat, sweater, can change the look of your outfit. This will get you senior portraits many more looks if you can add to your outfit choice.
Carley was excited to start her senior year in Colorado. Sad to leave her friends back home, but loved everything that Colorado has to offer. She told me she was a little concerned about the winters since she lived in such a warm climate. I think she will be surprised at how mild the winters are in Denver. One day in the winter it can be freezing and then the next day is 60 degrees, and there is alway plenty of sunshine to go along with our winter days.
We will be updating our blog with seniors that we photographed for Class of 2017 over the winter. We are currently looking for Class of 2018 model reps. You can find out all about our Denver senior photos and fill out an application here: http://rokastudios.com/2013-senior-model-reps-wanted/. We are looking for outgoing, stylish, and fun people to be the face of our studio for Class of 2018. We will be closing out applications at the end of the month.

Senior Pictures Denver | Maddy
Meet Maddy one of our Class of 2017 Model reps. Maddy attends Rocky Mountain High School. We did her senior pictures in Denver near our studio in the Rino Arts District. Maddy is a horse lover and actually trains and competes with her horses. Check back next month to see senior photos we are going to do with her horses. I love incorporating what’s important in each seniors life for their portraits.
My senior year I am most looking forward to delevoping new, close friendships and allowing current ones to flourish.
This summer I am looking forward to traveling to California to go surfing, riding my horses, and starting a new job.
My favorite thing to do in Colorado, besides ride horses of course, is ski with my friends. I love the mountains.
Something people may not know about me is that I want to take a gap year before college to hopefully travel and learn more about my passions.
My favorite memory growing up is camping with family and close friends. We’ve done this multiple times.
My dream vacation would be to travel to Hawaii with my family. I would like to explore the area and surf the legendary waves.
My proudest moment was very recent, I performed with my horse in front of an audience of hundreds at liberty, which means without any ropes holding the horse to me. I moved the audience to tears.
My biggest struggle is still music. It is something I am so passionate about but am also very insecure about. I have to remind myself to not compare myself to others.
I still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up, I’m hoping to figure that out soon!
If I won the lottery, I would set aside enough for both mine and my brother’s college tuition, set aside some to give to my parents, donate at least 30% to charity, and maybe use the rest to help myself later in life.
I would like it if schools could change how hey award students. It would be more encouraging to spread the wealth rather than focus on a few extraordinary people.
My favorite thing about school is the challenges it presents me with to help me grow. I also adore the friendships I’ve made.
My favorite tradition with my friends is going to the drive in multiple times during summer.
My current favorite musical artist is James Bay, I love his style.
My favorite concert experience was at the Taste of Fort Collins because it only cost $5 to see Andy Grammar with my best friends, right up close!
My favorite places to shop include PacSun, Forever 21, and American Eagle.
I have a large variety of music, but my favorite jam song is Larger Than Life by Pinkzebra because I think the message it tells is inspiring.
My favorite movies are Star Wars, Endless Summer, and Pitch Perfect.
The colleges I would like to go to are Univeristy of Michigan, Colorado State Univeristy, and CU Boulder. I don’t know what I will major in yet. Possibly music education or equine sciences.
I could not live without music, my horses, or my relationships (friends and family). All of these are vital to my well being and happiness.
Senior Portraits Denver | Jada
Going into my senior year, I feel an entire rainbow of emotion. But I’m so excited to see what’s next. Audition and applying and visiting colleges makes me so excited to see what the next adventure will be!
This Sumer I’m looking forward to some Colorado sunshine…hopefully! I’m a girl who loves some warm weather, so let’s all hope Colorado comes together for some warm summer days!
Picking my favorite thing to do in Colorado is a hard one! I love to grab some lunch with friends or family and walk downtown when the weather is nice! Colorado also has some pretty rad coffee shops that are always nice to stop by either to get some alone time or spend time with friends!
A lot of people know my love performing, but something some might not know about me is that I have another passion for politics and community service. Not only do I want a degree in something within the performance realm but also something like political science, sociology, or urban planning.
I have a lot of good memories to choose from. My family loves to road trip, and we would take trips to see my family in Canada. Riding in the car with two brothers for an extended period of time, was not the highlight of those trips. But when I was 10 I got to fly into Canada all by myself to see my grandparents. Wow, did I have a blast!
I would love to go to Africa! I would love to emerge myself in the African culture, and maybe stay within different villages. Not only am I in love with the African culture, I know of a lot of community work taking place that I think would be special to be a part of.
My proudest moment so far is being accepted into the Denver School of the Arts for my 6th grade year! As a young child I always loved performing and knew that DSA was somewhere I belonged. DSA has completely changed the course of my life and not only made me a better performer but a better student and community member. I couldn’t imaging the last 6 years of my life anywhere else.
Well, I’d love to be a performer... Singing, acting just being onstage. Wether I’m performing Classical/Opera or musical theatre, I’ll just be happy to be onstage. Also, I want to be a community activist. Always fighting for the rights of others who maybe can’t fight for themselves or need support.
My favorite Concert: I used to be a die hard belieber, you know an extreme fan of Justin Beiber. I knew everything about him… I even had a shrine to him in my closet! Honestly I was ridiculously obsessed. For my best friends birthday we bought tickets to see him. We were so excited, and our seats were great. Long story short, I was in love- thirteen year old girl love. I cried the entire show, it was a great night.
Honestly I don’t think I can chose my favorite place to shop! I love shopping, any kind, anytime, any where! But randomly, I do love to go to Michael’s and think about art projects and buy gel pens. I LOVE gel pens.
If I won the lottery, I would do a few things. But importantly… I’d buy V.I.P meet and greets to see Beyonce. I absolutely am in love with her, and NEED to meet her. Also, I’d buy a plane, and travel the entire world. Immersing myself in so many other cultures would be amazing!
I love learning, looking at something you know nothing about and gaining understanding is awesome to me. School used to be about learning, about gaining knowledge and becoming a better, educated member of society. It seems the older you get the more school becomes less about learning and more about passing. So to me, that leaves us with a struggling school system. A thriving school system, does not base money on test scores because they aren’t stretched for money. Schools public and private alike should not be based on money. If we teach are students as if an education really is a privilege rather than a burden, a lot of students wouldn’t just graduate with a diploma but also a greater understanding of the world around them.
My favorite part about school is the social aspect. I’m a very talkative social person and I love being around my friends and talking to new people everyday!
My favorite family tradition is going to my grandmas on Christmas Eve! I have a huge extended family here in Colorado, and ever since I can remember we’ve all gone to my grandmas for Christmas Eve. We eat traditional Mexican food, play games, track Santa, and open presents. It’s pretty awesome.
Picking my favorite musical artist is hard because I love so many different types of music. Some of my favorites are Drake, Chance the rapper, Beyonce, Lauryn Hill, and Erykah Badu. I also LOVE musical theatre!
My jam song is for sure Hol’ up from Beyonce’s new album “Lemonade”. Honestly it’s just a really good song with a really good beat, done by a really good artist. It’s the perfect package.
Possible colleges that I’m looking at include: Roosevelt University in Chicago, California school of the Arts, San Francisco conservatory, the New School in New York City, and Howard University a HBC (historically black college) located in Washington D.C. I’m definitely planning on studying something within the performance area. Either musical theatre, or classical voice. Not only do I want to study performance, but I want to double major in something around social science, and social politics. Wether it be political science, urban planning, or sociology.
Three things I can’t live without include: – Family, friends, and Chipotle.
Denver senior pictures | Travis
Another great senior model rep for Roka Studios to share. Travis attends Legacy High School and we found a unique location for his Denver senior pictures. Travis has a passion for dancing and wants to pursue it after high school. From what I have seen in person-see photos below, but mainly on social media Travis has mad skills and wins quite a few awards. We always love incorporating what is important into our senior photos and delivering something unique in their portraits. Below is his interview.
Looking forward to the most your senior year:
The thing I’m looking forward to the most my senior year is getting to spend time with all of my friends before we all take off on our own adventures.
This summer I am looking forward to:
This summer, I’m most excited to go to Hollywood Vibe Dance Convention/Competition’s Nationals! They’re being held in Las Vegas at the end of June/early July. I can’t wait to spend quality time with my dance company while also getting to learn from huge choreographers and instructors in the dance industry as well as partake in auditions that could change my life.
Favorite thing to do in Colorado:
My favorite thing to do in Colorado would have to be going to Boulder. I love the atmosphere and there’s loads of things to do there.
Something friends/people might not know about me:
Something that friends/people might not know about me is that I am a night owl. I love to stay up until 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning. I don’t know why I enjoy it so much, but staying up that late makes me feel accomplished for some reason.
Your favorite memory growing up:
My favorite memory growing up would have to be going to Destin, Florida with all of the friends I grew up with. My family lived in Colorado while the rest of them still lived in Missouri and it was such a great time because we got to spend the whole week with people we adored while also being at the beach.
Your dream vacation:
My dream vacation would have to be going to Italy. There’s something about Italy that I think is so beautiful. The food is probably pretty good, too.
If not Italy, then I would have to say Disney World. Disney brings out the little kid in everyone and being there makes me so incredibly happy.
Your proudest moment:
My proudest moment is when I went to Virginia at the end of April/beginning of May to compete and take class at the Hollywood Vibe dance convention. I set a goal to win a certain scholarship that would pay for my nationals fees, give me an invitation to audition for their company, and I would win free convention classes for a year. I set my mind to that goal, and I achieved it. This summer, I get to audition for their company and I can go back to the convention as many times as i want within the next year for free. This might not seem like a huge deal to some, but to me, it boosted my confidence and finally started to make me realize I’m a good dancer
Your biggest struggle:
My biggest struggle so far has been my confidence. It has gotten better since I came back from Hollywood Vibe Virginia, but it still needs improvement. I haven’t always been the greatest dancer. I went to a studio that didn’t treat me properly and didn’t care about how well their students could dance, and then I switched studios. Ever since I switched, I’ve been training anywhere between 15-24 hours a week and have decided to pursue dance as a career. I’ve improved immensely over the past few years, however, I still have the mindset that I’m not a good dancer. I know that that’s not true, but my brain won’t let me shake my confidence issues.
When I grow up I want to be:
A professional dancer! I can’t picture myself doing anything else with my life. Dance makes me feel so full and so happy. Doing anything else with my life could never fulfill me like dance will.
If I won the lottery I would:
I’d definitely give some to my mom and my sister because they’re my number one fans, I’d buy myself a nice house and some nice things, maybe open up my own dance studio, and donate some money to pediatric cancer research.
What would you like to change about school:
I’d like to change how majority of the classes we take won’t benefit us in our adult life. I think we should have to take a finance class, a class where we learn how to pay bills, or something that would be beneficial to us.
What is your favorite thing about school:
My favorite thing about school is that I get to see my friends. I have such a busy schedule outside of school, and getting to see them at school makes things much easier.
What is your favorite tradition with your family or friends:
My favorite family tradition is setting up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving night. We’ve set up the tree for as long as I can remember and it makes me so excited for Christmas time.
Favorite musical artist:
My favorite musical artist would have to be either Sam Smith or Adele. Both of them use their emotions when they write their songs and there songs are more relatable than anything else on the radio and you can feel that whatever they’re writing about happened to them and their music helps them get through their struggles.
First or favorite concert experience and why:
My favorite concert experience would have to be going to see Sam Smith with my sister. We’re both huge Sam Smith fans and it was before he got super popular, so it was cool to experience him before he blew up.
Your jam song and why:
My jam song is “Be Right There” by Diplo and Sleepy Tom because it has a really good beat and puts me in a good mood every time I listen to it.
My favorite movie would have to be Bridesmaids. I could watch it 100 times and it would never get old. It’s still funny to me even though I’ve seen it way too many times.
Your list of possible colleges and your major:
University of Arizona, Chapman University, Relativity, AMDA, possibly Pace University.
I want to either major in Dance, or double major in Dance and Business/Marketing
